Windows won't let me install

Pretty much what the title says. I downloaded the mod into the ck2 mod folder, and clicks on the .exe file from the description in the "read me" file. But windows refuse to cooperate and run the .exe file. Tried googling the problem, but didn't find any solution to the problem. Figured the mod was outdated, but it doesn't really seem that way. Any suggestions as to what I can try?

This is a strange bug. Are you unzipping the folder that the .exe file is in first?

Yup. Or rather, I unzipped the folder into its own folder. And then moved all of the files into the .mod folder. And as the description says, I clicked on .exe to start the installation. Then I got the message from windows saying something along the lines of "Windows consider this to be untrusted or dangerous." and only allowing me to click OK instead of "just do it anyway".

I have a similar problem. I'm able to run the .exe file, but it doesn't do anything. After answering the prompts, nothing happens. No mod in the launcher, and nothing in the files. And sorry if you feel I'm hijacking your thread, I just think it might be a similar problem.

No, the more people who share a similar problem, the bigger are the chances for it to be having a look at But all of this is very weird..

The only explanation for this that makes any sense is that you are also running some sort of anti-malware / antivirus program that blocks untrusted executables. Remember, Windows 10 comes with its own sort of this stuff too, so all I can advise is to turn all that resource-hogging junk off at least for long enough to run the installer.

Your problem is entirely different, I think, but I don't have enough information to help you with it at all.

I am also running into a similar problem. I unzip the file into the mod folder, run the exe file, and answer all the prompts. It tells me installation is complete, but when I run the game the mods tab is greyed out with nothing in it

You might not have admin access and trying to run from documents\
try extracting to somewhere else, like dekstop, and running the .exe

Tried both of those things, no success. If it helps diagnose this issue better, I can subscribe to a mod from steam and have the file in my mod folder of the game and even those mods don't show up in the mods tab in the startup menu.
