Windows 8 pro compatability

I have been running with Windows 8 pro for about a week now and wanted to give some feedback.

All of the HOI engine games run under Windows 8 pro with no crashes or failure to start.

The mouse required me to go into control panel and select the Paradox games (Each one) and state they did not work (Checkbox by the app name)
Once this was done the mouse scroll wheel worked correctly in the games. (Would not scroll to the top of controls prior to the change in control panel)

Overall the games run slightly slower and tend to be a bit jerky when scrolling the screen by moving the mouse to the left or right side of the screen.

Playable, but a tad slower.

i7 with 16 GB RAM (alienware)
Standard screen. (Not a touch screen)

Well, you'll have to wait for a bunch of patches until Win8 will work as they should. Since it's rather new this is not surprising at all. Ugh, men would I love to have your hardware!

About the slow behaviour under Win 8 - it seems to be related to DirectDraw. What helped me was this:

Just unpack into your AoD folder (where the main executable is located) and in the cfg file, turn on ForceDirectDrawEmulation. And also turn off all windows compatibility options for AoD.
