Windows 8 DLC crash

On my windows 8 64 bit the Mediterranean portraits dlc seems to make the game crash about 5 mins in disabling it seems to fix it but any way of applying it or fixes for it?

There's no known problem of that nature. Are you on Steam or GamersGate?

Try running the Steam client option to Verify Game Cache Files - keep doing that until it finds nothing to update. If that doesn't help, try a full clean reinstall: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete ALL the CK2-related files and directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam. Now run the Steam client option to Verify Game Cache Files until it runs clean.

Do you have any of the other portrait DLCs? Does the game crash when you run them?

Well, I don't know what to suggest. No-one else is reporting this. Are you sure you did a clean reinstall, as I suggested? That is, after uninstalling CK2 from Steam you manually deleted the entire contents of the CK2 directories under both Steam and MyDocuments, before reinstalling?
