Has anyone been able to play EU2 on Windows 7? It worked fine on my old computer with XP, but won't even start up on my new machine. HOI and Victoria will run in Windows 7, but with glitchy graphics.
Did you do all those things I listed?
works fine for me on win7 64ultimate
installed it under program files without trouble
Why would you post this in a thread about Windows 7?I reinstalled EU2 on XP and it's CingTD whenever I try to load a scenario.![]()
What exactly did you do? Everything in post #6? If so, also try right-clicking on the game executable eu2.exe and select to run it as Admin, and to disable desktop composition. If that still fails, maybe try running it in XP compat mode.tried doing what you said but no results
Or you could do what AndrewT suggested:I think Ihave found a solution!! You have to do 2 things:
1. Install EUII somewhere on your desktop.
2. When you start EUII and the first screen comes out (that thing from Napoleon Bonaparte) press ctrl+alt+delete. You should see 2 programs: Bink video player and EU2. Eu2 will be 'not responding'. You now have to end Bink video player. Now you should see Paradox's blue logo.
Enjoy your game!
This works always for me. I have EU2 version 1.01 on windows7 (64bit).
On Win7 or Vista:
1/ install outside the system path, so something like c:\games\eu2 or whatever
2/ rename the eu2/avi directory to anything else
3/ check for video driver updates
