Windows 7 - Ironman mode - cloud save not working

So, I finished my first playthrough as Muscovy/Russia and completely dominated the trade. End game the Novgorod Trade node was worth 500 ducats, and I was getting 1200 per month from trade. I decided to play as Gelre next, and try to form the Netherlands. I also was told achievements only worked in ironman mode and I was like: "why not give ironman mode a try?". I started playing as Gelre and after 15 years I quit. When I reloaded the game later, the save file was gone?!
I decided to test it a bit, I loaded another ironman mode game and saved it, just to load it, without actually leaving the game. But when I went into the "load game" part of the menu, the cloud save file was broken, already! It had the rebel flag and year was -5000 or something like that, it was corrupted! How is this possible?!
I have Steam Cloud sync active for EUIV and I even have autosave to cloud active in EUIV.
Any help would appreciated (I am looking at you Paradox, or just somebody who knows what causes this).

I ran into the same problem. I started a game in Ironman mode and saved it to the cloud. Than I tried to load the save again, but EU4 told me I was runing a mod and it's not possible to play in Ironman mod. But I had no mods activated, only DLC's. So I turned off the DLC's and returned to the Game Menue. Now I was able to load my Ironman save.
It seems that you can't play in Ironman mod with aktivated DLC's. It's annoying. Something the Dev's should look after.

I can start ironman mode, but I can't save the game.
When I save the game and I then go into the "load game" part of the menu (without going back to the main menu) I see this:


And if I then quit the game and restart it the save file is gone! It doesn't save to the cloud it seems like, and I don't know how to fix it

Yes, if you go to EUIV- Properties, I have "Enable Steam Cloud sync for EUIV" enabled.
If you go to Steam- Settings- Cloud, I have "Enable Steam Cloud sync for apps which support it" enabled
I even have enabled "autosave to cloud" in game.

Ok, problem solved. I unticked "ironman mode" and saved a normal game on the cloud, which worked. This made me curious, why can I save a normal game on the cloud? Well, apparently it was the name I gave the save file. You can't save a game Gelre -> The Netherlands. The -> doesn't work. It was that simple. I named my save file Gelre and it worked. Problem solved

I don't know, but you say you saved the ironman game and loaded again. Did you manually do that? AFAIK in Ironman mod saves will only be done auto or when you leave the game.

It is known that some of the special characters can cause the savegames go 'lost'. In the bug reports forum there is a sticky that explains where you can find the savegames on your computer.
