[Windows 10] Oversized cursor blocks tooltips 1.29.1

I have a 4k screen, but normally run EU4 on a lower resolution, since otherwise the UI is unusably tiny. However, since the newest patch, on lower resolutions my cursor now appears enormous, and is blocking tooltips and generally making it so I can no longer play. I have seen this posted here and there, but not spotted any official responses.

A better approach is to set the resolution you want, and adjust the gui_scale= line in settings.txt to your taste. Usually 1.2 to 1.5 is about right.

Thanks for the reply. I had to crank it up to 2.4 to look right.

I realize that editing one file isn't exactly complex programming, but I do feel like the game should have UI scaling by now.

Update: Making the text normal size with the settings.txt editing pushed the buttons (e.g. to declare war) off screen. Now the font is too small for comfort again.

No wonder with that setting, I've never seen anyone need it more than about 1.8 .

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/EU4/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/EU4/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

What you could also try is to change the scaling option which windows uses for eu4 by right clicking on eu4.exe, select Properties, select the Compatibility tab and then check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and try the different values in the select box below
