Windowed wish

So, I was sitting here thinking to myself, why do I like and still play civ2.

The reason is quite simple. Because the game is windowed. I can play it for a bit, click over to a IM and talk to my buddy, surf the net for a couple minutes, and then come right back without having to Alt-Tab and with full access to the task bar. So with that in mind, I hereby request, that if possible, the game be windowed with a option for full screen. If possible. Which according to someone on the HoI1 general forum it is.

Or you could use it to easily hide that you're playing a game when you're boss goes past whilst you're at work

Windowing it would be raelly helpful when your your writing an AAR also as you wouldn't have to Alt-Tab out of the game to do an Update.

Yeah, but you surely will need to set your desktop to a very high resolution, which I hate since everything becomes so tiny.

This would be the solution to the prob in HoI1 - but it is indeed more difficult than clicking on windowed mode in a menu...

I use 1024X768 beacuse 800x600 is a little too big and 1280x1024 makes everything too tiny.

I was VERY unhappy to find that Victoria come no smaller than 1024X768 I HATE playing games at that Resolution. Makes things too small. Games should be 800X600 unless they bump up the size of the units.

Same as you, 1024*768. And since most games use that resolution nowadays, if you wanna use the windowed mode you have to set it higher, which sucks.

Some time ago with CK me and MrT came up with a proposal to allow "chatting" in single-play so you could write comments which would be saved in a .txt file. It was too late for CK, but let's hope it's possible for HoI2.

Not that I'd mind windowing, I just think it's too much to ask.

Actually, the reason I even brought it up was because at the time of the post, someone showed just how easy it was to make HoI and Vicky and I think EU run in a window. All it required was changing one bit. I personally think that Johan and crew can handle such a momentus task as to not just change that one bit, but to put a extra button in the options interface that would change that bit.
