[Win 7] Game temp freezes during Drag and click

4gig ram, 500gig H.D., Dell all-in-one 2012.

When ever I enter a game I drag and click to select units. When I drag and click the music stops and the game appears to freeze until I release the left mouse button. This is a relatively minor issue but it removes from the experience. Im running MEIOU and Taxes but the issue was still there with vanilla so its not related to the mod.

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/EU4/settings.txt. Zip up your whole Documents/EU4/logs/ directory and attach or link that here too please.

Hello, I have had the same problem in both the demo and the full game.

While using a selection box, the music stops (can't confirm if all sounds stop), the interface disappears, and the screen flickers black. The selection still works as normal after release, and the music continues, but it is very annoying gameplay-wise. This happens even click-dragging on empty space and selecting nothing.

A brief google search has found plenty of references to this issue, so I believe it is quite common. There are threads here on bug reports, threads on the Steam forums, and I saw one for CKII reporting the same issue there as well.

I have a Windows 7 laptop with Intel HD graphics. I'm attempting to attach the files requested in the above response...

It will certainly be a video driver issue in your case. See if HP have a newer one for you, if not you'll have to do a manual install from the Intel site.

If the .exe version on that page refuses to install (ie HP have restricted you to their drivers, not the generic Intel ones) you’ll need to use the .zip version there.
