Willing To Host W/ 8Mbit Pipe

I have an 8Mbit pipe both ways (fiber run directly to the ISP) I can host multiplayer games with. I'd be willing to do so once or twice a week. Length of playing sessions and house rules are open for debate. If anyone has a dependable group of players interested in doing so, I'd appreciate getting my MP butt handed to me a few times by you veterans.

Are you available for Sunday nights? We play 9-12 eastern. Group of six. I'm not sure how the rest of the group would feel, but we have been having big connection lag issues and a good host might work for us.

I was going to post in beta, it might be very beneficial to have a group of us beta's test MP using the beta version. I'd be up for that one day a week and then one day a week hosting for a group using the commercial version. (I purchased it before I became beta)

Another thought, I wonder what would happen to save games if we updated the files mid-game? Yet another thing to test.

I am indeed available on Sunday evenings right now. My time zone is eastern also. Get with your group and let me know how they react to it. I'd be hosting on the 8Mbit fiber run on a 2.4ghz machine. I'll be very interested in seeing how much lag we experience.

I'm not against trying anything at this point. I wouldn't rule out dialup players until I have experience showing that having them participate makes MP unplayable.

Hopefully I have been accepted into one existing group and will soon gain some useful knowledge concerning the pros/cons of MP with various connections. Keep me in mind and we'll see how things pan out.
