Currently, with democratic goverments, we see how much each candidate will potentially get of the vote but we don't actually get to see what percent of the vote people get and what goes into it. It makes it hard to calculate if you can leave things up to the will of the people, was your spending of influence unnecessary and such.

It would be good to know and people may not see democratic government as such bunk as it seems they do at the moment.

I think you're misunderstanding the victory chance. Iirc it's like, every pop has a 50% chance to vote for candidate A, 30% chance for B, and 20% chance for C.

So across an empire of several dozen, even hundreds, of pops, you wouldn't expect more than a few % variance either way, since Stellaris exists in a magical world where political polls are accurate.

The vote supporting seems less "My candidate is at 50%, but the next one is at 35%, so let me bump it to 65-20 to be safe" but rather more "My candidate is losing 35-50, let me bump it up to 50-35."

why should it be any different than real life :D

Well that very much depends on where you live, as an Australian I am pretty happy with the process... the parties not as much ha ha, at least the big ones

Oh and a total aside, I see who you were talking about with the tinfoil hat, and yeah I think it felt a bit directed at everyone. I got your point on it but I think those things were bad as well, not posting on that one again letting sleeping dogs lie.

If this is the case diplomacy needs a massive rework, however, I don't believe it is because I have had a person with three influences by the player, myself, and be well above every other candidate and had someone else come out on top.

I think that is it is as you describe it diplomacy needs a massive rework, it seems that the at paradox are fantastic at widening their game but not deepening it. It seems that I hear some problems from the eras which console is in, still be about today. I think that if we could see things such as the election results, we would better be able to understand how things happened. And not so much for me which is disappointing, modders may be able to change that. But surviving mars got mods so who knows.
