Will this rebellion destroy my union?

Okay so I'm playing as Castille (original, right?) on Ironman and I just got in a personal union with Aragon through an event.

The thing is, my ruler sucks, he's a dang 0 0 0 but when he was crowned I got pretender rebels with a pretender that is much, much better.

So, before the Aragon event I was letting the rebels take over, but I have no idea if that will now jeapordize my union.

So what do you guys say? Will I loose Aragon if I let the rebels enforce their pretender upon me? I have never been in this situation before.

Didn't realize two of the screenshots copied over the other, that's what happens when you use ms paint and don't pay attention I suppose.

you lose PU if its pretender rebels inside your minor PU slave. You won't if its your country and if you have positive opinion with aragon AND if your prestige is positive.

You can even get a king from another dynasty when your king dies heirless, and your PU partner won't complain.
Note that the rebels can't win if they don't occupy your capital for 2 years. So watch any vassals and don't go to war with help of allies until the better stat pretender rises to power.

Oh, and you get all the rebels and their generals as free troops.

Even IF the PU somehow breaks, just reinforce it. A admin tech 10 you can make spain militarily anyways. So it doesn't matter how long you had PU, what opinion they have of you etc.

Thanks for the input, so just keep Aragon from interferring and raise opinion and keep Prestige high.

I have over 90 Prestige right now methinks, Aragon is on 72 or something in opinion so I might as well raise that more.

you should have set aragon as supportive behaviour. I think they won't attack rebels in your country then. You can do that in the subject window.

oh, doesn't it work for minor PU subjects? Sorry then... Didn't get a PU yet in 1.8.

Well, you could have gone to war with anyone and let aragon army attach to you, and just wait till rebels occupied capital for 2 years.

Is it ironman? If not, you could load an earlier save.

I was looking around for a war to pick, but I had truces with everyone around me besides Portugal and France and they are my allies.

can't you lower autonmy for a new pretender? If you got low legitimacy, it might work..

It's no biggie now I have a new ruler. The old one died after a couple of years of being a general.

But my rulers have really odd numbers. My current ruler is a 6/0/2 and the heir is a 2/0/6

i thought you can set focus of all types of subjects if you got aow, or not? Not sure if its paying feature.

It is paid feature, and I also think it should apply to all subjects. At least it's what patch notes say:

It's now possible to set the military focus for your subjects to be Aggressive, Supportive or None, which changes what tactics they will use during war
