Will there be another major update after the Native American thing?

I think it's pretty telling that the new EU4 update is just reconstructing existing DLC. A lot of people are wondering if this game is beginning to get bloated with new features and mechanics. CK's final major update, Holy Fury, was released 6 1/2 years after the original game. Emperor was released 7 years after EU4 launched, and with CK3 Eu4 is the oldest of the major GS games (except arguably Vicky 2) by a long shot. If you believe there is more to add in another major update what will it be? A real DLC or another free pity update like the upcoming one?

iirc, Paradox was pretty forthcoming that Holy Fury was going to be the last expansion for CK2. I assume they’ll take the same route with EU4. If I had to guess, they’ll announce one more major expansion and end EU4 development.

I would hardly call the SE Asia update a pity update, as it is a region many have wanted to see updated. Emperor has really freshened the game up, and there are still mission trees I have not explored.

However, the only region that will be lacking content after the NA and SE Asia update will be sub-sahra Africa, so after that region gets content, the rest of the expansions will likely have to be more mechanic focused than, region focused.

Sorry, I completely spaced SE Asia. I wasn't interested in the region at all so I ignored the dev diaries. However I assume they will be released along with the NA update, right?

Every update, people find something that indicates it is the last update. When will we know for sure? When Paradox employees tell us "this is the last update".

Doesnt matter since unless EU5 takes all the good thing of EU4 and removes the bad bits like CK3 you shouldnt buy it until atleast 3 expansions came out. I sadly dont trust Paradox to be able to outdo EU4 since even in the current EU4 we have has so many flaws wich were not there since the game released but recently added by the developers in the last 2-3 years of the game. Not to mention the amount of polish and bug fixing Emperor got pre-release makes me expect that EU5 will not even be a game on release but just a PDF of the games unfinished code wich says "work in process pls visit again in 5 months" at the bottom.

Both NA and SEA updates are passion projects from Groogy/Neondt so no, this doesn't say anything about the next expansion patch.

He will probably say something about the current patch in development, if we are lucky. Otherwise, he will tell us about the weather in Barcelona... There has never been any openness as to future plans, so there's no reason to believe this will change.
