I don't think : there will be a gap of 800 years between Imperator and CK2.
In Imperator we will build an empire, but before going to CK2 this empire need to break down
I hope Paradox will one day make a game about the late antiquity

I really doubt it. Creating such a feature is cool and all in theory. But due to them having to maintain this converter, every time CK2 or Rome is patched it becomes too much of a hassle.

I personally don't see the need for such a converter either. You inevitably lose most of the features that defined your nation and if you are a halfway decent player, there will be absolutely no challenge in CK2 as you now control most of the known world. But that's just my opinion.

If you RP or switch nations, then you don't have these problems tbh.

Of course it is doable. You can even make a HoI4 -> Imperator: Rome converter if you so want.

PDX seems to have given upon official cobverters, though I'm sure there will be fan ones eventually.

but considering that the game's theorized end date is before the rise of Christianity to any form of prominence anywhere, and there will no doubt be many religions in I:R that have no equivalent in CK2, on top of the 800 year gap... it would need a heavily modified CK2 to work out.

What does that have to do with what I said? I'm talking about the Migrational Period (the period starting with Hun Invasions and ending around the Coronation of Charlemagne), not the migrational mechanics (that will be present in the game, just like they were in the first game). The issue is that there are two large historical periods between I:R and CK2, over 700 years in total.

I hope that eventually it will appears. May be some DLCs spread the time period of Imperator: Rome to the future and the time period of CK2 to the past. Also, the end date 27 BC is the main disapppointing news in this moment.
And othervise, if Paradocs will not do this... I shall hope on modders.

Cimbrian invasion of Italy was a huge deal too. That was was 113-101bc.

Imperator: Rome might perhaps be expanded up to 3rd century and Crusader Kings II couldn't really go back before the 8th century, so there will need to get a game on Late Antiquity and Barbaric invasions to fill the gap before being able to get what you request...
