Will there be a second expansion pass?

I know that there were lots of issues with the rollout of the first expansion pass, but I also seem to remember a post saying that the HoI team had learned a lot from said issues, and I was wondering if that combination of issues/learning from said issues would result in the release of a second expansion pass.

I know I would be very happy with that, as I usually buy every DLC(that is probably a poor admission to make), so being able to pay a bulk fee up front would vastly simplify my budgeting for however many expansions the pass covers.

I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.

I'm sure there are others who think the expansion pass should die in a fiery pit.

If anyone wants to put in said opinions, feel free, but let's just try to stay civil.

based on what I have seen them say they are considering it but they definitely aren't going to announce it till after MTG. Most likely when whenever the next DLC is announced.

That seems like it would create a few headaches. No one is going to fork over money for an expansion pass if they've already dropped $20 or $40 on DLCs that could only be bought separately up until they decide to release a pass. They could give people a discount on the pass if they already own MtG, but the whole point of the expansion passes is to get all the DLC at a slight discount, not just pay the full upfront price.

MTG is part of the first expansion pass so it won't be part of the next one. The next DLC and the expansion pass will likely be announced simultaneously, so you would be choosing between the season pass or just one DLC. So there won't be a case where most people have already bought the DLC that the season pass covers.

To be completely honest with you, I am not sure that there is a plan regarding a second expansion pass. I will check this with the devs. But regardless of the outcome I'm pretty sure this will have to stay secret until the next expansion.

I would like that. I pay once and then I know I will get the next ones. Also gives the dev security because they have a certain amount of secure funding.

I hope so! I know that I'm gonna end up buying every DLC, so if the expansions are grouped together, it makes buying them a lot easier. Don't have to figure out getting the money for an expansion multiple times, just have to get together ~$40 once.

Due to my dual love of WW2 history and Paradox studios, I would gladly purchase any and all HOI4 expansion passes. The fact that first one one was economic boon to those that purchased it was gravy in my opinion.

My second historical passion is the American Civil War. Hey Paradox, how about a game in an American Civil War setting?

I'd pay for it. I might not like or agree with all the decisions PDX makes, and will continue to criticize it when i deem fit. But i still like where the game is going overall and would like to give them more resources now so they can make a better version of the game sooner rather than later.
