Will there be a 'sandbox' mode? For those who want to just make a model city?

My first post, so apologies if this has been discussed or if this is the incorrect place for doing so.

I greatly enjoyed Cities XL, but at a certain point, I simply wanted to make a model with no constraints of resources, traffic, balancing demand, etc. Basically, if I place a zone, it will be filled and 'happy'. Maybe there is a mod to do this (I'd like to know!)

Will there be an option (or how hard to create a mod to do so) to have a sandbox mode where a player can just make a pretty model with none of the constraints the core game has?

Thanks!

Yes there will be. Normally Id say look at the sticky FAQ but there is no mention of it there

As Mav12 has said, the presence of a sandbox mode has definitely been mentioned at some point. However, I'm not certain, but I think it was in association with unlimited money. I don't know if they have given details like you are asking for above (ie- whether the sandbox will fill every zone with shiny happy citizens or not, or whether sandbox simply gives you the funds to build all the sweet stuff you want, which in turn will presumably make for happy residents). If you are building a pretty city, the distinction is irrelevant, since ppl will be happy anyway with those things. However, if someone wants to use sandbox to build a dark miserable place, without any services, etc., then I'm not sure whether the citizens will stay happy or not.

It was mentioned the other week somewhere. Infinite money but certain buildings still need to be unlocked by fulfilling whatever you have to do. I dont think you will be able to turn traffic off though, as thats pretty vital.

Thanks.

And I understand even for a sandbox mode, there have to be some decisions made in terms of what is needed, or not. For example, if you require utilities, would there be any impact on buildings? In a true sandbox mode, I would want to be freed from most of the realistic constraints (like keeping industry separate from high-end residential).

Anyway, will be interesting to see what options are available.
