I wasn't sure if it was mentioned somewhere, but i wanted to know more about minor nation tanks. I was interested if there would be a tank tech tree for each nation. For example, the first tank was built in Riga (Vezdekhod), but it was only a prototype and never used in real life nor in battlefield. So i thought maybe nations like Latvia could get their own half real, half imaginary tank tech tree. Probably not, because there wouldn't be enough nation tank designs. However, there can be a tank tech tree of some German steel and Soviet Union tanks. Other countries like Netherland would get a mixing from England, Germany, France. It would be kinda sad if there wouldn't be any tank tech trees for minor nations, but it would be fine as long as every nation can have their own tanks, i think.

Every nation has the exact same tank tech tree with the exact same stats. The tanks are just called different names. The german has german names. Soviet has Soviet names and so on.
Minor nations will most likely not have historical names, but have the same amount of tank models to research. They will most likely just be called Light Tank 1, Light Tank 2 and so on.

Also, the devs are1 receptive to community research. Even if most or all minor nations start out with generic names, I expect that the devs will be willing to add well researched tank (or ship, or whatever) names for minors in patches. :)

They certainly have added community researched provinces in EU4.

The major nations all have country specific named and modeled equipment. Some minors have some named stuff while most of the stuff is generic i.e Light Tank 1 or Fighter 1 for example. They will of course expand the number of country specific models and names, but for release only the 7 minors have fully unique ones.

With that said, at their core all nations have the exact same equipment initialy. You alter their stats with the designing companies which are, again, for the 7 majors unique to the countries. Porsche gives your tanks more armor but they are less relieable, while Henschel gives you better armaments and speed and MAN better soft attack, for example.

This is what the generic national focus trees and tech trees for minors will look like initially. Here and there might be some flavored equipments or country specific national focuses.
