Will there be a boxed copy?

Compared to what? I saw Tropico 3 at Target yesterday for $39.95, while I can download it from GG for $29.95. Seems like a deal to me. Granted not all the games get that kind of deal, but download prices are very competitive on GG from what I've seen.

That sadly Isn't true where I live. For $25 I can even get a physical copy shipped home while the retail price in some stores is as low as $22.

Especially not in regards to other fairly new games. GG is generally same price as physical copies, or even more expensive while you don't really get the same product.

A lot of the costs in physical game distribution is rent and salaries, Hardly needed at all for Digital download.

If GG lowered it's prices the boxed copy distributors would simply stop distributing at all. They can't compete with that competition, so the company that provides the games sets the same price for them to have.

Exactly and this isn't something new for digital distribution either. It's something that has been very common when buying anything direct from manufacturerers that also sold through normal retail; even though their costs are lower they can't undercut the retailers or the retailers will drop their product.

Good point. Its just Vicky isn't on steam but that might just be because its old.

I'll buy it wherever it's available first/cheapest.

Though if they release a collectors edition later on I might be inclined to punt for that
