In the end the best thing to do is to publish the games in physical and in digital form. People without the internet or capability to buy digitally can also have their copy of the game. Which means more profit.

I can afford to treat myself to a book or PC game every now and again but to commit to ongoing internet bills on monthly contracts is not affordable at this time for me. So please don't belittle people who are obviously not as fortunate as you are.
I guess I might as well state for comparison that I have a 2M connection, and the price is included in the rent (of a price-subsidized student apartment, but still).
As for digital sales surpassing physical sales, the article linked claimed physical copies only accounted for 20% of sales with subscription revenues included). I recall reading another article, where digital sales in either Europe or Finland (can't remember) had reached over 50% of total sales sometime last year, and I don't think that included subscriptions.
A really major reason for publishers to want to move to digital retail is actually the used-games market. The publishers and makers of the game get 0 extra revenue for games that are sold a second or third time (or even more).
I'll probably buy digital copy just so that I can get the game the moment it comes out. Then I'll go to a shop and buy myself a physical one to touch and admire.![]()
I like boxes![]()
"The PC Gaming Alliance's (PCGA) latest report has concluded that boxed game sales only equate to 20% of all PC gaming purchases worldwide, confirming that digital is now clearly the primary method of distribution.Actually, the majority of sales are digital, overwhelmingly so. http://www.gamerzines.com/pc/news/boxed-sales-only-20-of-pc.html
(Hey, RE Lee gets away with this stuff.)
EU3 is less than a gigabit and EU:Rome and HOI3 are both a little over one. So I'm imagining that Vicky2 won't be more than 2GB at max.If this game is like other modern games at all, it'll be several GB in size, correct? I would have to leave my computer on overnight for that.
Got it! Thanks!
Victoria2 may be out in a box, most definitely will be in several territories, but not everywhere in the world.
You won't enjoy most games from us then.

Better save the patches on disc as well or you're forever stuck with the release version after that.Well, if I can order it from amazon.co.uk I'll be happy. Gamersgate doesn't look so bad, but I still like to prepared for the day the internet has collapsed under its own weight and I need to reinstall the game.![]()
