Ay, Guys, you know i like boxed copies very much . You just said that you won't release a boxed copy of 'smaller' games, if you think that not enough people would buy a boxed copy.

Alright, you know, Victoria Revolutions is the best game EVER by Paradox, that's my opinion and so is it of many others. The original Release of Victoria is sold out, the Complete Edition is sold out, you can pay up to 50 Euros for a used copy, for a game that is many years old. You see, the Victoria-'Series' is very popular and so Victoria 2 is a 'greater' Release.

PS: Vic2 seems great so far, because afaik there won't be the province-overkill like in Hoi3.

No official statement that I know of, but I would not be surprised if it will be only distributed digitally, because Frederick has already bet his hair, that vicky 2 will never be profitable for Paradox. Physical Distribution is much more expensive than digital, so I would suspect there will never be a box on the shelf.

Digital distribution is more environmentally friendly. It's also cheaper, which is really the same thing.

Some physical artwork would be nice though. A possibility to order posters?

Then aren't you living in a very privelleged place!

Because, I remember back in the day when only a select few shops sold Paradox games... and back then there were many more shelves dedicated to PC games.

Personally, I hope Paradox sell this game as a boxed version, because I will be buying one if that is the case.

They can always try offering physical copies on preorder to see if they reach whatever threshold is needed. If they don't, then everyone has the opportunity to cancel their order or have it automatically swapped to a GamersGate download (I picked GamersGate because they and PI seem very close)

It needs to be an a box. not that it shouldnt be but that it needs to be.
Not only was all those little cards that came with the first one damn helpful and not only does the physical nature of an actual physical copy mean you can actually own it rather than just buy it but it gives a game credibility, if its not in a box then it wont sell because it wont be taken seriously and so only people who are already following paradox and its products will buy it.
If the game doesnt have a physical copy it doesnt have anything

Hearts of iron 3 was in all the stores here.

At the very least Victoria won't have graphics as incredibly shitty as eu3.

I'm sure people will pick up a modern game with an interesting if complex idea they haven't heard of with pretty box art and hdr over something that looks like it's low budget crap (let alone victoria 2 will probably say FROM THE MAKERS OF HOI 3 which will help sales)
