that because ai do nothingI find your use of "unsophisticated" highly amusing, it tells me a lot about you.
And rolling back to when? The AI and performance have been shocking for a number of patches now, just to various degrees.

"Prevent their use" is a high bar.
Who here has actually rolled back?
Do you know what *really* helps with slow down/stutter bugs?I'm just going to back this post up with this and this.
People were posting topics at least a year ago across multiple platforms complaining about performance issues that have only become MORE applicable to the game today, than they were back then.
You can't use Megacorp without 2.2, people paid for megacorp and 2.2 prevents it's use.
Rolling back is irrelevant, people already paid to play megacorp.
Do you know what *really* helps with slow down/stutter bugs?
More cases of what is happening, what hardware it's on, and what's being done at the time.
Do you know what does *nothing* to solve the problem?
Just complaining about it, but not actually providing any feedback that might lead to solving it.
But perhaps that's just me being crazy, and expecting people who are suffering from a bug to give information that might solve the bug.

You *can* however give them information about what makes it worse *for you*, which might lead to them solving the problem that is causing most of the issues that are being seen. You clearly have no experience in game design or coding. Paradox has all of the tools available to them to debug the processor and what functions are causing lag and otherwise. They do not provide us with those tools, (for obvious reasons), so the onus literally cannot be on us, the consumer, to debug their game for them, but is instead on them, the producer, to debug the dang game.
But of course, fixing performance issues can't be sold as DLC so paradox doesn't tend to care about it

Or you can just sit back, complain it's slow and stutters for you, but not even remotely try to provide diagnostic information.

Yeah that part is particularly grating. After all the promises that LeGuin would improve the already bad performance it was that much more annoying to see this happen instead. In 2.2 before the beta the game basically was slower in the 2300s than it was before in the 2900s. It was shocking. Even now in the beta, opening the expansion screen and trying to send a ship to a planet in the late game grinds it nearly to a halt. Almost as bad as the resettlement screen was. Its preposterous. The thing that irks me the most is that on the FB group this patch was presented as the ultimate performance solver by the PDX PR people, happily telling everyone that getting rid of the tile system will increase performance which had 0 basis on facts, even a brief playthrough on the pre relesase 2.2 would prove that. Someone actually posted that the performance is bad based on the preview version before some crap "embargo" would lift and was getting downvoted.
Then congratulations, you're not the kind of person that post was aimed at.Performance is trash since 2.2 hit and I have every right to complain because I can barely use the product I bought, what's the point of playing till 2200 and restart the game or sit with a book past 2350 because the lag is so bad that I just don't feel like waiting through all this or enduring the stutter fest on my screen? It's not fun and I'm not gonna force myself to endure this and convince myself 'it's ok".
As to providing information, I've posted mine specs in another thread about performance and someone started complaining about "flexing" (sic!), besides that my system is optimized to the maximum with all the bloatware from win10 gone, I really want to express how bad these practices by PDX getting lately, rushing the DLC to pocket the cash before Christmas and we now gonna wait 2-3 months for the game become playable (or..?).

Like really, PDX is starting to have these really bad marketing practices, it's sad because I do enjoy their games and Stellaris is one of my fav, but currently the game is not really playable past 2300 for me with all that stutter and sluggishnes, and I'm starting to give up on waiting for things to get better.
I'm sorry that English doesn't allow for a more specific (or technically *less* specific) "you" here. How many times are you going to conflate our justified complaints with not providing the information to fix them? You've said this to twice now and both times we've told you we already gave our specs to the devs. Did it ever occur to you that we're complaining because we've done everything else we can and two weeks later we still don't have a playable game?

In this case it was a general statement that *if* a problem exists you can provide data that lead to a solution or just complain - which is the route far too many people seem to do.
But I guess that either you're seeing a lot worse problems than I am, or you have a *very* different standard of "unplayable".
You've said you've posted your specs - and I get that.
Did it ever occur to you that I'm suggesting people post details of when the lag occurs and what they're doing *because there's more than one issue* here - as shown by the fixes so far solving the problem for some people but not others - and in order to try to get all of them found and resolved rather than having it drag on and on?

You have that right. The devs have already told us they know what the issue is and you have no idea what specifics we have or haven't already posted. The fact of the matter is you're a long term user clearly more invested in paradox as a brand than most of us are, if over 6000 posts and every game under the sun on your account is anything to go by. You've waltzed into several topics now, seen people disliking something you like because they have problems you don't, and you've taken it upon yourself to try and tear down that opposition by falsely conflating angry complaints with a failure to provide information to fix them.
We have provided information, your implications are groundless and until we get the product we paid for, we'll continue to be angry.
You have that right.
But - the devs have told us a couple of different things as the root cause, at least one of which various people are saying cannot be involved.
Hence wanting people to post their assorted different slowdown/lag/stuttering problems to the bug forum.
The ridiculous thing here? We both want the same thing - a bug free game, and yet you're attacking me over trying to get people to contribute to that goal.
Yes, I admit I was a bit over enthusiastic in trying to push you towards the bug reports - and I'm sorry that you took it the way you did.
I've become jaded by the number of times on here and elsewhere that I've seen people complaining about bugs - but not engaging with locating or tracing the bug; I regret giving the impression that I was suggesting you were withholding that information and just complaining.
Oh hell no, I own a good number of Paradox games and have been a long time fan. This is the first Paradox studio release I'm so annoyed with. The reason? I can't properly play the damn thing. So yeah, I wish I was spending my time doing what I paid Paradox to be able to do instead. I mean the design changes introduced with LeGuin had me super hyped. If not for the horrendous performance issues, but also to a lesser extent the feeble AI and the zillions of obvious bugs, I would be happily playing instead. Not a problem, just try to bare in mind 99.9% of us don't want to be here complaining, I for one would much rather be playing the game right now. But if you do stumble across that .1% that hasn't given their information to the devs and still sees fit to complain about it, let me know and I'll join you in telling them off.
@Ramiren something I do now, is to make sure I change Priority to High for Stellaris on my Windows 10. I believe it helps a bit. Admittedly, while the lag was really awful pre 2.2.2, since the Beta patch it became a lot better. That + the trick I am doing now, makes the game enjoyable. There is obviously some lag at some point but nothing game breaking.
My CPU is: Intel Core i5-4440 @ 3.10GHz, 4 cores. I have also 8 GB RAM. The game is on my SSD.
I started playing at 1.0 and to be honest, the lag was horrible then. However, with most if not all patch from then, they managed to improve the lag for me. I know that experienced is not shared by everyone but still![]()
