Will the game run on a Geforce 9400m (IGP) + old PC which can run EUIII

Well, I got a lovely MacBook. It should be able to handle HoI 3 quite good, though a Geforce 9400m is an integrated video card without memory of its own. I remember that some Paradox games do not want to run without a graphics card with its own memory. Is this also the case for HoI 3?

Then another thing pops in my head. My second computer is an old system. Its specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Single core)
2GB DDR-1 (PC3200 if I am correct) RAM
ATi Radeon X800 XT-PE
Win XP Home

That system handles EUIII quite well (the time doesnt go really fast but it still plays good enough). I wonder why HoI 3 will probably not run anymore on that system, according to the manual. It looks quite the same graphically?

I've also got the 9400m macbook integrated graphics chip (2.4 core 2 duo, 2 gigs of ram), and was wondering what people thought. I've got a fast desktop anyway, but it's nice to know if my mac can handle it.

This is not going off of any personal knowledge, but I think it should run the game perfectly fine.

Paradox knows that many of it's users have older PC's and they take that into account when making their games.

And I should add if it runs EU3 fine then it will run HoI3 fine. HoI3 late game might get a little slower because of the mass of units but that is expected.

According to the manual they suggest the Radeon X850XT or better, so the second system would seem to not meet the requirements.

On the other hand my experience with other games suggest the game will run but will seem to stutter due to the graphics card not being able to keep up to the CPU.

Of course you answer your own question tomorrow if you download the demo. If it works well then you most likely will be able too.

Just going to say the same - from the Man himself - run the demo guys, gives you time to upgrade before the release if need be.

Well its not a big deal if it doesn't run, my regular rig is a Phenom quadcore so no problems with that.

But I just wondered it because the manual says:

AMD Athlon 3500+
1GB of Ram
X850 XT or up

So it would be close for the videocard, and the CPU is quite some steps below.
