Well I got that statment from a swedish navy officer. Is Sweden wiches to rise again they will have to get ride of the current gov. and get something the reflects the peoples needs.

Hey, I was in the military, and heard all kinds of stuff about the Norwegian resistance in WWII, some of it is true, lots of it a little true, and quite a lot untrue. Trust me, do you think the pre WWII Soviets feared Sweden, when they had the power to paint Europe red? Nah.
It is common knowledge that the Soviets used the baltic, the north sea and the fjords of Norway as practise areas. Heck, they still probably do! (The russians that is)

Well the Soviet Union had grown even faster in power.
Secondly, having a decent Miltary is one thing, being a major power is another.
Third at this time the swedish politicians first priority was the independance of Finland. They did not wanted to act friendly to the Soviets so that the Soviets would not destroy freedom in Finland (the horrible Peace Agreement). The Freedom of Finland was important for Sweden out of egoistical reason. We prefered the Soviet Border to be east of Finland and not East of Sweden.

The Swedish people need a sovereign leader that once again can make our nation a glorious political and military power.
I bet Göran Persson would make a great military commander. At least he got the body of great swedish war kings like Gustav II Adolph and Karl X Gustav.

Well, he would probably be a better commander than Carl XVI Gustav (also known as "Knugen") I can imagine General Persson leading the Swedish army in new adventures in the Baltic, and it's not a pretty sight...

Actually I would make damn sure to keep most of our politicians far away from any military equipment. Heh but then I would do the same with our ÖB. He looks like a damn priest.

Well, our Prime Minister IS a priest. He's been PM twice and managed to get us into the only 2 "wars" fought by Norway since 1945. These religious guys can be quite martial

Well, maybe I'll be the one to have enough rank and prestige to command this national army to take ba... I mean protect our dear brothers in Finland and Baltic countries.
