Curious guys can play MP games on a PC with a friend on a console?
sadly no, this is due to a few differences between the pc version and console version

The console version is currently behind pc by a fair amount of patches [console is on pc patch 2.2.7]

There is also other differences like; galaxy settings, mp lobby cap, in-game time speed, etc

As far as I know, there are no plans for cross platform of any kind

I was luckily able to get a Seriex X. I was shocked at the load time on the Series X. Basically we see the Paradox Interactive, Paradox Studios (I believe) and a splits second of Tantalus. Then BANG! At the main page.

Game is sped up real fast. Hopefully I finally get a game into 2300+ since I seem to restart too much since I love the discovery faze of the game.

In terms of discovery, I think they need to add the ability to find anomalies in systems you capture from others. On top of that, I think they need more events involving Fallen Empires and Precursor empires. I know that as a Psionic you can spy on them and listen in on one of their conversations but I think they could do way more other empires so it's not exclusive to Psionics. Also, are there any events for the Ancient Caretakers? Because besides the one where you can accept species modifications from them I've never had any interaction with them. They've never awakened or done anything about the Crisis. I also think that all FEs should Awaken and have their own expanded quest line involved during endgame, rather than 1 awakening and the other 2 being a random chance and only 2 FEs being able to awaken

to be fair Console version graphically is way behind the PC verison ! so I think it is necessary to optimize it for next gen consoles (Xbox series x and PS5) in order for console's graphic be more or less on par with PC version

I think the graphics are the least of their problems, if they could optimize it so that you can play a save for much longer without slowing down and have more stars and empires and stuff that would be much more helpful.

some of that is due to the technical limitations of the system the game was originally released on
some of that is due to internal ai stuff within the game and requires future patch version to iron out [to some degree]

from what little i know, the game does run better on the series s/x and ps5 in sp; but still suffers a bit in mp since the cross gen compatibility

that being said i've heard that even with the improved performance of the systems the game is still prone to lag and crashing in the end game

How far into end game though? 100 years? 200?

on older consoles usually around the year 2400 the game starts getting laggy; it can start earlier if you have a lot of pops [as they are the main cause for lag]

on newer consoles i sadly don't have a date for that because i don't know anyone that plays it and has a series s/s or ps5

Well as a DS that's a problem for me. Anyhow I'm saving up for a laptop then I might as well start building a PC after that. Then again, I do plan to spend lots on it so maybe I will get a series X just so the games I have run better until then

the best you can do is mitigate the problems

if you decide to start a new DS game that is

have 4 ai empires, 1 fallen empire and 1 marauder empire

keep primitive civs and habitable worlds on default or lower them by half [.5]

when you go to colonize worlds don't just grab them for the sake of having more worlds, look for energy/mineral/food producing worlds respectively

crack the others so you aren't tempted to colonize them later

only invade ai home worlds or worlds with a fair amount of pops [50 or higher]

it might make things more complicated and difficult, but it should help reduce the lag you'd get in the late game

Thanks, but no thanks
