hert, I think youre spot on with that observation. I've pre-ordered because I couldn't stop watching the escapist magazine stream on this game. I've been waiting for a proper citybuilder since SC4 (rush hour), and got put off by the SC2013 initial price (luckily missed that launch disaster), only to find out it wasnt SC5. Any fan of SC4 and other city planning games is bound to at least play this game enough hours to warrant a purchase I think.. will have to wait and see.

This is great news! Congrats CO and Paradox.
This is also of course great news for fans of city building, because now people will be adding models to this game like crazy and it will be a different thing in a year.. or less even. But imagine this game in 2 years, with a high player base, and model submitting base.. and people working on a proper "city skyline" city engine that works more like a traditional American or European "skyscraper cluster" type CBD.

Not sure about Steam, but it's sure to be a bestseller at GMG with their big discounts. Steam really needs to jump on that discount train too! 
Really hyped for this game I have already convinced 3 friends to buy this.
I think there will be more word of mouth marketing as the game is about to be released. When people will see you play they will be more inclined to buy it too.

This is great! Shower them with money so they can relax and just take their time and continue development
Well it is available to a lot more PC systems then GTA V is, GTA V is limited by its incredibly high specs.
I've been bashed too much for complaining about C:SL high requirements, but i i can't resist being quiet about this.
I'll just say it :
My computer (as is for now), can run GTA5 but cannot run C:SL so i'm not so sure about your statement in this regard.
Wat... that.. what? how does that make sense? I don't doubt you at all but... huh, I'm guessing you can run GTA V on minimum?
I'm not so certain that you've seen the required specs. The minimum requirement of a processor from exactly 8 years ago and a graphics card from roughly 7 years ago and 4Gb of RAM isn't demanding and anybody with $200 can buy a system like this used. If you are referring to the fact that they like to say quad core I'd wager that modern Intel dual cores will be just fine seeing as they offer more combined power than all 4 cores on the minimum spec processors....an $80CAD Intel dual core offers slightly better performance than a Q6600 in synthetics that can fully utilize 4 cores. So both games only require extremely old processors with GTA5 requiring a better one but CSL requires a 30% better GPU at the minimum. I'd say they are both available to roughly the same number of users if you go by minimum specs. With that said a lot of times when developers say minimum they mean minimum as in the minimum amount of air you need to breath to stay alive. You won't be having a nice time with that much air and you probably won't have a great time in either game when the action heats up and your toaster runs out of power.
Yeah mostly because of my (soon-ex)graphics card. It doesn't support dx11. Other components in my PC are fine.
But I love C:SL so much, that i'm willing to buy a new graphics card just to play it
I guess that not catering to the lowest denominator is one of the reasons C:SL is such a great game! Finally a dev that takes PC gaming seriously.
A pc that exceeds the minimum specs is dirt cheap these days. My mainstream PC is 4 years old and I'm on par with the recommended specs.
I saw the specs.... last week... haha, I dont have a great memory. I guess what I meant was the ability to have the specs to play cities skylines are more accessible(maybe?) then those to play GTA V?. I don't know, maybe I should shut up, I'm gunna get told of for not knowing this information and having an official title >.>
