They will not purge other humans, but they will be fully hostile to any other non-purifier human empires.

so a difference in the species name won't b a problem then?

Oh, sorry, it’s a bit late and I overlooked that.

If the species name is different at all - including the plural and adjective - then it will be considered a separate species and will be purged by a purifier.

If you create empires whose species share the same portraits and names (including adjective and plural), then they will be considered subspecies of the same species, and purifiers will then not purge the pops. Traits don’t matter for this, only portraits and names.

A Mankind species with the human portrait will be seen as a different species and would purge humans if, say. Earth was conquered (assuming you’re a purifier). The reverse is also true if a human purifier conquers Mankind.

Are you sure about this? I think all empire species are seperate, regardless of name and portrait. You can always gen engineer a sub species and change the portrait and name, but I've never seen it actually becoming equivalent to another species within the same species type.

Azhcristokos is right

It used to even be possible to make Necrophage empires with both non-necrophage and necrophage pops by using same portrait and name for the prepatent species as for the main one. It has now been blocked (prepatent species can no longer have the same portrait as the necrophage one) but the principle that used to make it possible is still true.

It is entirely possible to force spawn two empires with the same species by ensuring that they use the same portrait and names.

They will not purge other humans, but they will be fully hostile to any other non-purifier human empires.
I don't believe they will be fully hostile. The purifier empire should be neutral, it is the the non-purifier one that will still have the relations penalty. I.e. the hatred will be one-sided. Unless both empires are purifiers in which case they will love each other (something like +100 relations).

So
will fanatic purifiers Mankind race hate Humans race?
No (provided same portrait and species names), the Purifiers should mostly be neutral, but no-purifiers will still not want to have anything to do with them. Unless they are both purifiers in which case they will love each other very much.

Last I checked the rules were:
- Purifiers would not purge them
- Purifiers would not hate them as Xenos
- however the non-Purifiers would still hate them as as a Fanatic Purifier

There are two checks in place:
- "is_same_species", which is true for any subspecies from the same tree
- "is_exact_same_species" wich only matches the subspecies.

Note that the chance for the UNS and COM to both spawn in teh same game is infinitissimal. Instead the other side is usually force-spawned.
The code that force-spawns the UNS or COM will just copy the other empires species. Which causes issues left and right if you picked any origin that changed habitability - the other one of spawns on a continental world.

Purifiers in Stellaris take the expression "grammar-nazis" quite seriously

If we look a bit at old earth, then you'll see that even slightly less fanatic purifiers have no problems eradicating their own kind.
This time, game mechanics and reality are in agreement.
