Will Cordoba be playable? with the new dlc

So with the new republic DLC and with awesome new mechanics that exist I'm hoping the Devs don't limit republics to only Christians. The republic of Cordoba exists at the beginning of the game and while it may not have lasted very long historically Crusader Kings is all about what if, and it would be awesome to create republican Muslim Andalusia.

Muslims are playable, Republics will be. It might not be fleshed out particularly, but I don't think they'll make a exception just to exclude them.

And, as far as I know, Muslim Mayors are already not subject to decadency or Turkish inheritance law. Not totally sure, though.

A Muslim republic existed in the games time frame in Cordoba I'm wondering if it will be playable.

Muslims are playable, Republics will be. It might not be fleshed out particularly, but I don't think they'll make a limiting exception.

Yeah hopefully, I re-read the interview and the mentioned embargoing infidel republics so unless they meant heretics it looks like they are.

Hopefully more than one non-Christian republic will be running around. Actually, more than one non-Catholic republic for that matter - like Republic of Novgorod or something.

Well, according to Wiki, Cordoba stopped being a real "Republic" by the time their second ruler, Abul Walid, abdicated in favor of his two sons. Who, of course, squabbled with each other for the right to rule the city, giving the Mutamids(Abbads) of Seville an ample opportunity to annex the city into their taifa emirate. That being said, I don't see why Paradox would make them unplayable just because they weren't a Christian republic.(Providing you've got Sword Of Islam installed that is.)

I for one would love to play as them. It would be like an Islamic version of the Rise of Rome!('cept in Spain,) Imagine, marching highly disciplined Ibero-Arab armies into the heart of Europe, bringing classical literature and the True Word of The Prophet to the heathen barbarians of the North!(Providing you survive the Reconquista that is...)

I would think the game blocks play-ability on the simple ground of being a muslim. Remember, too, that even if you aren't using the succession mechanics, you still get a few extra events as a Muslim.

I really really hope that you can play Republics no matter if they are Christian or Islamic. Hell after a Pagan DLC we should be able to have Pagan Republics.
