We are probably doing p-59 Airacomet -> f-86 Sabre for us jets. The Airacomet fits better time and performance wise compared to the shooting star
I am assuming that the only difference in HOI4 between the P-59 and the P-80 is that the P-80 has a sexier picture than the P-59
please please please please, no World of Tanks in the air either.
As I see it the harder challenge is to properly model the impact of jet engines on dog fights or intercept missions against propeller planes. Otherwise these jets are there for flavor only.
Currently there is no real incentive to research and build them since speed has no significant impact in battles. The only difference I felt was that they would get the target province faster, but that's about it.
Something like speed initiative should be rolled in air battles. If the side with higher speed wins the roll then it gets an advantage based on the speed difference. That way it makes it useful to get fast planes.
This may be a stupid question, but can't the sam effect be achieved by adding air attack and air defense to jet engine module?
So...
Can I combine the Ku-Ro with the Ka-Mi and have a submarine transportable sea-launched (towed by a H6K Mavis) amphibious gliding tank armed with a pair of Long Lance torpedoes?
SU had multiple jets, and neither Japan, nor Italy didn`t manage to build any jets for obvious reasons.
