Will a vassalized Pope call crusades?

Can a vassallized Pope still call crusades or does it require him to be independent?

It's been a while since I put my King-Bishop of Scotland on the throne of St. Peter so that's why I'm wondering.

Pretty sure the Pope is an Emperor. You can not vassalise him.

He should be able, even as vassal (afaik, system is pretty much the same in this matter as with Caliphs and Jihads).

And Pope is the King tier, because question is about vanilla, unless stated otherwise.

King. Emperor in one of the Mods though.

Pretty sure you can get him as a vassal through some exploits though. And yes, a vassalized pope should act like a normal pope. The Sunni Caliph is a vassal afterall, and he calls Jihads.
