Sadly no. And I have no idea how anyone has been chosen for the beta. I wont be in it unfortunately. Even though because of the WWW videos I don't want to play any other game.

I highly doubt open beta - wiz has repeatedly stated that early access / public beta is not worth the expense, and given his expertise in the area he probably knows what he's talking about. And thus I think the rest of Paradox leads agree.

know the trouble, want to finish HOI3 mp game, but others don't want to play anymore, just waiting for HOI4
EU4's demo was made available about 5 days before its release I believe.
Lol Was it really? Wow, it felt like I had to wait an eternity for that game to come out. I remember watching Quill18's England play-though about 3 times, end-to-end cos I was so hyped.
If you want to play the game, which is what I think most people asking to beta test are really after, a demo is by far superior. It'll be custom-made to present the game to be as appealing as possible, whereas a beta is, by definition, unfinished, balanced, and buggy.

Or people who think "open beta" means "yay i get game 4 free!" and expect it to be a finished and polished version, when in reality it's the devs who need feedback on gameplay, balance, bugs, etc.

There won't be a open beta, there's a beta but its closed already, no one else can still join (I believe...?).

This is why the "Early Access" games are getting a bad reputation. Because a very small percentage of developers are releasing a true Beta (something close to what the finished product will be) and a large percentage are releasing unfinished crap in order to cash in early (and decide to either drop the product or continue with development).
I have done Beta testing before, and it WIDELY VARIES by developers. Some dev's think that Beta means a mostly finished product that needs to be polished before it is released to the unwashed masses. Other developers think that it means a buggy game that's almost ready for release because Q3 is right around the corner. It just varies a lot, and I can list a bunch of reasons but overall it's relies on the motivation of the developer to release the kind of quality product that will impact not only their sales but their reputation as well.
