I'm not sure if this is a bug. I began as the Duchy of Apulia and went on to become Kingdom of Sicily. Sometime in the 12th century the Archbishop of Spoleto asked to become my vassal. Ok, no big deal. Then a few months later I got the realm duress trait. During this same period, the count of boulogne asked to be vassalized, followed by at least 3 or 4 other dutch states in rapid succession, culminating in the rather large duchy of Holland. I had no claims on any of them. I held no Dutch titles. I controlled nothing outside Italy except for a piece of land in Norway a vassal somehow picked up.

Are you playing DV?? ... and if so, have you applied the latest beta-patch from October??

There was an issue with relations increasing each time you reload, but it was fixed in the beta-patch.

I am not aware of any such issue in original CK (which you definitely should upgrade to 1.05 if you don't have DV)

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I forgot to mention I'm playing DV with the latest beta. I'm also playing the latest release of the DVIP. That could be the issue.

No, I don't think it has anything to do with DVIP.

I one of my latest games I also noticed that during realm duress I suddenly got some vassalisation offers from counties/duchies from places I had no connection to, as king of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland the county of Jülich f.e. asked to become my vassal.

And I am not playing DVIP

Even with the latest patch you can still get vassal offers from "matching" dukes - Greek princes in northern Russia wanting to be vassals of Byzantium, or Norman counts in England wanting to be vassals of Italian de Hautevilles. It's just not so insane any more that any two bit Sami Catholic wants to be a vassal of his awesomeness the Orthodox King of Jerusalem.
