I am playing as ITA in ARM/1.3B. I just finished triggering the Bitter Peace with the USSR (with no help from the darn germans!).

For some reason, the USSR had not taken over Lithuania, they have one province left.

Well, shortly after the BP triggered, the USSR declared war on Lithuania. This got rid of their peace-time Consumer Goods requirements, and as there is no way for them to actually get troops to Lithuania, I thought it was a rather cheeky human-type strategy :)

So, I declared war on Lithuania, causing the entire Axis to be at war with them. This caused Lithuania to join the Allies.... which caused the Allies to be at war with the USSR.

When the peace-treaty with the USSR expires, they have a non-aggression pact with GER but not with ITA as a result of the Bitter Peace, I fully expect them to declare war on me, dragging the Axis in against them....

This would then result in a 3 way world war.

Well, for me it seems that USSR may now have got rid of their consumer good needs etc, but they are in more serious trouble (assuming that germany and you had encircled and destroyed most of its army and not just caused it to retreat...). So, have fun full annexing them with the help of the allies :p

it's been a while since i have played but as i recall, once things get way ahistorical, the USSR kinda developes a fetish for three way major power wars. I recall quite a few games where me doing some unexpected ahistorical things have even caused the USSR to proactively DoW an Allied and Axis major within a day of each other. It's quite humrous. Until I got caught up in it...

Germany never took Memel (or Lithuania refused), USSR was successful in it "Demand Territory" before it declared war

The USSR AI is coded to attack the Baltic States starting late summer 1940 (and providing they aren't at war). Once Bitter Peace fires they aren't at war any more, so they go ahead and attack Lithuania. Their AI really needs to be changed to reflect the Bitter Peace awards and remove their European Sphere of Influence.
So, I declared war on Lithuania, causing the entire Axis to be at war with them. This caused Lithuania to join the Allies.... which caused the Allies to be at war with the USSR.

Pretty much a standard result of a DoW after WWII starts. You will almost always end up fighting the other Major Power.

Mine wasn't necessary.

USSR has been a good neighbor and kept down the noise. As ITA, I launched operation Sea Lion and invaded the UK. Within 6 weeks I had conquered Britain.

I then took Bermuda and staged nearly all of my army, fleets, and planes there. ( 50-60 INF, 12 MTN, 5 MAR, 4 HQs, 4 MECH, 8 MOT, 12 FTR, 6 INT, 27 TAC, 3 NAV).

Most of the east coast was undefended, but I chose to land in newfoundland, then descended through the north east. After I had take the eastern half of the US, it seemed waaaay too easy. so I loaded up and saw that half of the US troops were in Africa in some British province....

The US will be completely out of the war in another 1-2 months tops. Sadly, I barely got to use any of my ICBMs and I am still 5-6 months away from beginning Nuke production. It is Summer of 45.

Looks like the AI is not as good as I thought it was in the Beta patch. I expected Italy to have a tough time at it, but I now hold spain, hungary, yugoslavia, greece, turkey, persia, the middle east, iraq, kuwait, half of india, half of france, most of north africa, the UK, and most of the US. My IC is now well over 400. My manpower is just under 900.

Or is it that MIL makes the game too easy?

Maybe I should play as France and spam MIL and try and defeat germany :)
