Last hint. before it is too obvious..
One of the gfx is pretty long and small and the other is pretty pretty big...

best resolution is always the native resolution of your screen Tv , if you have a 1920X1080 monitor, that should be the resolution you should pick to have the best quality as long as your processor and/or graphic card can handle propertly that amount of information, or if you have sight problems or prefer to see things bigger

I was thinking also about a version with 1600*1024 as a higher resolution makes it hard to read the descriptions on the screen. And also it is high enough to get an very good overview over all aspects of the screen info already.

What do you think?

Imagine if Paradox could give us a true customizable GUI with movable, draggable, re-sizable windows instead.
There are TONS of games out there who does this. LUA GUIs make for awesome customization.
Providing the community with the tools to easily modify the GUI will both raise the appeal of the game and make the customers happy (look at WoW GUI which incorporates the best LUA mods).

I have two screens, one 1680x1050 and one 1920x1080 IIRC. But I play windowed on the biggest, and to get scrolling to work I can't go above 1680x1050 on the biggest one(becasue of the program bar not counting and if I exceed 1050 I can't scroll down. Also, I like to have skype readily available right behind, so I like some free space on the side).

Also I thought it would be interesting if someone finds out what graphics I added in the screens in post 1. But so far noone found it. Maybe because it is "missing" since day one.

I must have good enough eye sight then, however since this is a curiosity poll I was wondering if there is an optimum resolution, above the basic where the scale up doesn't leave as mush wasted space as is noticeable at very high resolutions that people think I could drop down to? Any recommendations?

sorry for the late reply.
I assume that you write of the space around the tech/Spy screens?
Then something around 1360/1440 * 768/1024 should do the trick IMHO.
