Why would some of the same pops not merge in the Jobs list?

So I've gene-moded my serviles into farmers and techinicians. Since nerve-stapled disables factions and ethics they all became identical and merged into one group which lets me keep track of them easily. But some refuses to do so and despite being exactly the same they are displayed individualy for some reason. Anyone know why? I really don't want to have to mouse over all of them occasionally to make sure the AI doesn't shuffle them around into wrong jobs.

Because 6 can be displayed individually in a row. 16 cannot.

You need more of the jobs before the interface starts merging them.

A better solution to your problem would be to change their portrait so each type of slave looks different - you can do this when you do advanced gene-modding - then it doesn't matter how the interface lumps them together.

isn't it because they have different ethics? but their slaves so i'm not sure they have ethics.
if you click on one you get to see their ethics on the new window.
