honestly, if you could narrow the scope down (to lets say continents) i would probably use the random country option just because i dont know who to play right now

Like this: Africa, Asia, Europe, America, HRE, World and etc?

Go to the general region you'd like to play, close your eyes, wiggle the mouse for a while and click. There, you have random country selection.

Or doesn't the OP know that you can play any country you'd like, not just the ones displayed at the bottom of the screen?

This way the local blobs will have more possibilities to be selected.

There's a random team feature on Football Manager, but I never stick to it. I'm like "Yeah, whatever team it gives me, I'll play as them....... Click........ Cavese? Naaah...... Click...... Southampton? But I'm a Pompey boy...... Click...... Raith Rovers? But Scottish football sucks...... Click......" I'm much better off just picking my team myself, and I'd wager that implementing a similar feature into EU would yield similar results.

A nice idea, but I just can't see many people sticking to their assigned nation every time, if they bother using it at all, for it to be worth it.

How can I take Golden Horde, if I didn't know I can play any country I'd like. ;)

Closing your eyes won't help choosing specific countries like HRE, countries that have <3 provinces, America (continent) and etc.

I have played FM before. You can choose your team by choosing for example I want to take team from premier league. Like that why couldn't we choose random country for example has province between 3 and 5, latin tech group and etc.

More importantly it would be nice for us, if we could pick random nation in any time period and from our save games.

Open the countries.txt file in the common folder of EU3. Select the countries from the region you would like to play (or all countries if you desire) and copy and paste them here: http://www.random.org/lists/ . Click on "randomize" and just play the first country in that list. That's how I find my random countries. Of course not all countries in that list are playable at all times, so you may need to adjust the list to your region & era preference. Hope that helps :)

Thank you for your suggestion, Mieszko. But I want more options. ;)

I have a better idea : there would be only the random button in EU, nothing else, and then you can't start any new game as long as you have not reached 1821 with tib... i mean the random country.

. How many of us will finish the game to 1821?

And to make it even worse, if you don't manage to survive as the random country you'll have to play again with the same country.

Or better yet just turn your monitor off and leave your mouse to the right or left for however long. Then spam click and turn your monitor back on :)

A mod that caused the autosave to randomly assign the player nation would be fun.
