While it might be difficult to get a 5 Star governor with fleeting, getting 5 Star Scientists and Admirals is definitely possible as you can deliberately train them on science ships or your main fleet. Later in the game you have so many leader lifespan techs, that it really doesn't make a difference anymore or you just genemod the trait out.
So I think fleeting is okay where it is.

However, I do agree that there are too little -2 negative traits which leads to almost no customization if you want venerable. There are lots of good additional trait mods and I think the devs should put some of those in vanilla.

It also give lack of customization with very adaptive.

I just want to make a race that very adaptive, nomad and fast breeder, just to see how much I can spread it around the galaxy. So I just need a single -2 that not non-adaptive.

We should simply have more traits, especially more traits like "decadent".
Decadent is another of those Traits that might be more troublesome for your enemy then you.
I mean there is the slight danger of a enemy Attacking you with "Ban Slavery" goal, getting a few quick victories and then forcing the demands and thus doing massive damage to your Economy while you are distracted.

But overall it just means those Posts will be useless and unhappy in any Individualist Empire.

It also give lack of customization with very adaptive.

If you cut out the Nomad one, you can easily pick 3 -1 Traits for the rest (as the cap for traits is now 5):
Extreme Adaptive is +4
Rapid Breeders is +1
And you got 8x -1 Traits to choose from. Could even be Sedentary.

Note that Agrarian might be stronger then Rapid Breeders for growth. -10% Growth Cost/pop vs +15% Food.

You are missing the aim, I would like the growth speed but it is less important then migration, as I cannot control their ethos once they are out of my systems, as the aim is for them to basically be an invasive specie. Thus I go for individualist, as to get pioneering terminal, which is the only boost to migration speed outside of nomad. After that the choice are between spiritualist and/or xenophile, spiritualist will increase your population growth as long as they stay spiritualist and can go with theocratic republic to further increase growth by reducing everyone food consumption, while xenophile make it easier to get migration treaty.

I can already do that, but just want rapid breeder mainly for roleplay reason, along slightly further optimization, which would easily cement the choice of invidualist/fanatical spiritualist.

(It does mean we can't have fun with xenomorphs bred from droids and other absurdities....)

If you got 20% less damage, just build 20% more armies. And you are actually ahead in HP, wich will in turn reduce attack losses of armies.
On T1 a Corvette costs the same as a Assault Army in energy Maintenance. Nothing in Minerals.
T3-5 it is one Corvette per 5 Clone Armies.

Strenght of a specific army only maters in a Garission/Defenses case. At wich point the attacker can just bomb it down to -100% and lock your armies out of regeneration anwyway.

The wierdest thing I ever made was a Droid Pop Psionic army.
Of course you can only do that when you are neutral on the Materialist/Spiritualsit Axis, but it was possible. I think it was a Stock UNS run too.

That also works.

My favorite of all time are Droid-based Xenomorphs with commissar squad attachments.

So, the Xenomorphs are bred from the droids... and they respond to threats from commissars?

"You xenomorphs better get back into the fight, or we'll shoot you!"

:indistinct Alien hissing:

"Don't you act like a smart ass. I'm the commissar of this squad, and you have to do what I say."

:more Alien hissing:

"That's better. No more retreating. It's a shameful display from dangerously psychotic biological life forms bred from the honorable line of R2-D2."
Nitpick time: From the description, the xenomorph army isn't made from any of your POP species, it's a horde of genetically engineered critters kept under control by scientists and soldiers of the species you made the army from, though that does raise the question of why weak/strong/very strong even affects them.

As for both robots and psionics, technically any race can get both, it's just much harder if you're spiritualist or materialist.

We should simply have more traits, especially more traits like "decadent".
Having species that live longer or are repugnant to other species is fun, but species with bland +10% ressource output are easily forgettable.

Currently, we have traits that make me think about Star Trek humanoids - there are slight differences between each species, but in the end, unique species with tryly defining traits are the exception. The problem is that what we see on our screens (three-headed hydras, ferocious bird-like creatures, amorphous mushrooms etc.) have no relation with the traits.

I would have strongly disagreed with that before, but now I think that some portraits should have more chances to be associated with some traits, and it would be even better if some unique traits could randomly be associated with specific portraits / specific portrait groups.

This is what I like about my schizophrenic trait idea, we can make it so that it randomly changes leader traits. =p
