Thats so good. I just played Fallout 4 for good few hours and I must admit it is a huge disappointment... shame.. well all I have left now is wait for Cossack.looking forward to this expansion.
Wouldn´t say I´m disappointed, would just have liked them to do more about it and build and improve on what they got
Improvements to the shooting and handling (due to previous bordeland employee I think) are great, but they should really decide if this is a shooter with RPG elements or RPG with shooter elements. Like the new and improved way to handle grabbing stuff from enemies, it´s fast and easy, but heck, I can´t see the damage, range or with junk any of it´s components so I´m left with guessing which is fine, if not for the fact that going into the inventory shows just this!...
Also, did you notice that there are actually fewer guns than NV? They created this great crafting system and instead of using it to build on what they had, they simply removed stuff "since crafting makes you create more guns"... No, it makes me create more different guns of the same... Did a rough count, excluding the more unigue weapons, NV had more pistols than Fallout 4 has different guns. And while the crafting is great, it still limited by the few bases you can build upon.
And speaking about half-cooked, the settlement "management"... Feels more like a mini-game than actually having any impact. I mean, where´s the scavenging parties you can gather and send out to areas you cleared, where´s the caravans that comes around since they heard people are here, where´s the decision to raid neighbouring settlement or trade with them? instead you can solve one quest and voila, they are yours now...
Had hoped they had done better, even with what they put in and improved with. Would have loved to play to get the choice of playing the lone wanderer or the struggling settlement that must defend from raiders, neighbours, starvation. That must choose to either try to trade in desperate times with their friendly neighbours or raid them for their stuff, like having a relation with every small settlement. Sending out your settlers to scavenge more actively, assigning guards who carry less and perhaps you even take the lead to assist against any encounters, best used against those areas you cleared since the carry weight should be way more limite, making the need for survival decisions needed or counting on your settlers to help scavenge which in return requires more resources to feed, defend and equip making you need to take more time finding enough...
