Why there is no ETA for Cossacks yet?

My guess is they are taking their time to make sure it works, as usual, and they are trying to avoid certain massive hype-explosions coming up which have a potential of overpowering Cossack hype. As much as the devs interact with us on a community level we must not forget sometimes they have to deal with business decisions too.

When they planned the schedule for this DLC and began production, fallout 4 wasn't even announced... so hardly this can have any effect on a deadline PDX already have made months ago as to when to release, especially when we are so close on release...

If the marketing team says they want to delay the release a little to not interfere with Fallout 4 and the production team says they'd like a bit more time they could probably move it back a bit since it hasn't been announced. Or perhaps they had already planned something like mid-December.

I fail to see what does fallout has to do with Cossack, it's just a DLC, not a new standalone, it'll be released when all the content is done and all the obvious bugs are weeded out.

Majority of EU4 players play Fallout or just loud minority? I haven't ever played any Fallout, but I probably wouldn't like it as I hate Skyrim and other popular game.

I can't say. I hadn't even heard of it before this thread, but I hope it doesn't have any effect on the release date. Besides, whether or not people play one game or another is their choice, so it's not like it's the devs fault that they would play Fallout when they release a new expansion.

Maybe the devs want some time to play Fallout the game without dealing with the usual patch/expansion forum fallout?

Fan of fallout myself since long ago... No I don´t believe it would have an impact on DLC release, yes it´s a grand game that many have been waiting for. But the DLC plan and production was already made months ago, and being this close to relase where they have set a deadline internally, won´t push it either. More likely to happen if they encounter major bugs that need to be resolved.

Fallout 4 was only recently announced officially 1 ½ month ago, even a short time before that they denied any existence of such a game and no knowledge other than rumours were available before that. Even more so, it was the general consensus that when announced, it would be long while before release since games nowadays follow a long period from announcement to release. So this came to a surprise to many when they announced 1 month ago that it would release now, to which I don´t believe PDX has changed internal deadlines.

Well, 11 Dev Diaries (three months!) and still no release date of Cossacks & 1.14

Common Sense had 11 DDs and was released one week after the last one, Art of War and Wealth of Nations and Conquest of Paradise had 10 and were also released one week after the last DD... pdox pls
(El Dorado had 5 and Res Publica 3, mini expansions)

maybe devs are doing additional testing to decrease the risk of post-release-week-of-necessary-hotfixes?

Well, according to current players' very mixed opinions, Fallout 4 is rather on the disappointing side, and they don't even mean 'technically broken beta state game' (though that's also an issue with F4 ) but very bland story, characters, dialogues, quests, as well as not-that-brilliant character development and few other mechanics...


Damn, I am so interested in the 1.14 patch notes. It would be cool if they were released one week before 1.14, not one day

Yeah I have just noticed that. Could be a bit faster though maybe pdox is ensuring final polish (and avoiding confrontation with fallout 4... fortunately it is disappointing) but could be also worse so it's all OK

Thats so good. I just played Fallout 4 for good few hours and I must admit it is a huge disappointment... shame.. well all I have left now is wait for Cossack. looking forward to this expansion.
