I have both games, and have been playing EU2. Is there any reason to still play EU1 when one has EU2? Am I missing something?

I remember initially that EU2 was somewhat "incomplete", but with the patches, that should be fixed, right?...Right?...

1. I haven't bought EU2. Hence hard to play. :)

2,. My computer's not powerful enough to support it, and since we've having some money problems lately, I'll have to wait a few months... Anyway.

3. I have an AAR going.

The most important reason is the nostalgy. EU I is a very good game and altough EU II is good as well EU I is the best:D :D :D

I can give you one example on why you should play EU 1 instead.... it has greater mods and home maded scenarios then EU 2 *points at the medieval gc 1192-1492* :D

Well, now with HOI out there all the mod makers should move on to EU2 (it is old enough now to suit the conservatives). Event scripting - gotta love it.

There's only Yoghurt left (?), on EU1, and I think he's scared of EU2. Don't expect to see him moving in the short-term future. :p

Why EU I when I have EU II

The question why play EU I when you have EU II is like...well, like you asked why play Civilization II when you have Civ III. Civ III is better than II but hey it's Civ II! It's is the nostalgy, and after all, EU II wasn't IMO so much better than EU I, so I'm still unhappy I wasted 50 euros by buying it. EU I has almost all the elements, and I don't really miss the 1419 campaign. 1492 campaign with IGC rocks really hard, almost infinite playability, unlike EU II, plus my EU II crashes harder than EU I, even when patched.

So why play EU I? It's better and funnier game w/ IGC installed.
I see no reason for me to play EU II! :D

EU plus IGC means lengthy, longterm relationship with the game. Having only owned the game for a year, I am not ready for a sequel myself. in all likelihood, i will defect to EU II in the future. sorry yoghurt. but not for a longtime...yet.
