Why not bus lanes in all types of roads?

Only avenues have bus lanes. Only the ones that have both driving ways.

And if I want to build a street (with a small road ) on only can pass public transport? And why not a one-way small road with a bus lane?

Colossal order, paradox, I paid 15€ for the after dark, and I think that all of us deserve a free update with this new types of roads.

I agree it is a bit disappointing as in some cases I would really like to restrict a road to buses only. Zoning housing or industry along a road that only allows buses may prove an issue on a two lane street. A single bus lane on a two lane one way road could avoid this problem.

When I am designing a road network I normally only want a small section of road connecting to a roundabout or motorway as a bus lane only road. A bus lane motorway on-ramp would work well and would also have no problems with zoning.

I also agree. I would love to see more road types making use of the bike and bus lanes (along with trees). Especially a small one-way road just for buses and even a road for bicycles, buses and taxis only.

Although, I can see adding many types of roads may start to clutter the interface, so maybe it may be useful to add check boxes and/or drop-downs for each road size to find the type of road we'd like.

I think Train Fever got this one right. Bus lanes (and tram tracks) are an overlay that you can add to an existing road.

Cities: Skylines could have grass, trees, bus lanes, and bike lanes as different overlays that you could choose to apply, in any combination, to any road.

It would be great to have these things built-in. I'm sure someone will create a mod for this just as they have for other things that weren't included with the other updates like the European buildings for all cities for example.

I completely agree with all of the above. Oneway or bus only roads would be amazing. However adding bus lanes to an existing road is not as simple as adding an overlay, you would have to manualy add bike + bus lanes to the diffuse of each road type, in every possible combination. I'm guessing CO didn't have the time to add them to all the classes of roads.

Cobblestone textures are a must for such streets (if they're ever added). --Now that I think of it, I haven't seen a mod for this yet, so I wonder: is it possible to replace the default texture of the pedestrian paths with a cobblestone one? It'd work great on European maps (albeit not in all areas, but the historic centre is the main thing about these maps anyway, so I'd be happy with this solution). :)

You guys are aware that the Traffic++ mod has dedicated bus roads and pedestrians paths that you can build on right?

A turn-off for me is that using Traffic++ would affect all future saves containing these custom roads or other features. The idea is that it could break/ruin a city save with errors in the long term is one reason why it would be a nice update to the After Dark pack.

Traffic++ is to critical for savegames, I will not use mods that breaks my savegames.
I hope CO will bring more road-options to the game (see CiM 2).
