I was just wondering why we didn't get a tank pack for the Italians and Japanese as well ? We got one for the other 5 majors even France who was knocked out of the war in the first few seconds of the fight. Is there plans to have a tank pack available for these 2 sometime in the near future?
Don't know much about the Italian tanks, but Japanese tank production never go to far, they are already having to make up tank models to fill out the japnese tech tree, so I imagine that is part of the reason

If they can make money from it, they will make em. Hoi had multiple unit packs for sale long after the game released so I won't be surprised to see unit packs for countries pop up over time.

Stop reffering to Wargaming ever again. They always include paper or straight fantasy tanks into their game. Infact, the Tier 8,9 and 10 are made up by Wargaming themself.
Another example for fantasy tanks is the Waffenträger auf E-100 for example. Aside from the fact, that not even the E-100 was ever completed, germany definatly didnt had the capability to build a functional 150mm autoloader back then.
That said, Wargaming never made a secret out of the fact that they include made up tanks or tanks that barely made it on paper to fill up gaps. Thats why it took Wargaming over 2 years of research to even come up with a barebone Japanese Tank branch, not even a full tree.
Not that I know anything about Japanese tanks, but in World of Tanks the developers have used alot of prototype models, other models that never even went past the planning stage, tanks that were developed and used a long time after the end of WW2 just to fit enough tanks in the game. I think it's a bit unfair to claim Wargaming managed to find enough tanks to fill the roster.
No, I said their was fodder for Sprite makers. Or am I to understand the Japanese tank tech tree will end with late 30s or early 40s tech for some odd reason?
Will other nations have tech trees limited to fit with perception. Nothing beyond 1939 for Poland obviously.

I will show both the Italians and Japanese much love once the game releases.....
"Hi may I order the #17, with chicken fried rice & 2 spring rolls?"
"Hi may I order the stuffed shells, dinner salad, garlic bread and two chocolate cannolis?"
tank names are models are purely cosmetic. At their core a german 1939 tank has the same stats as a yugoslavian, american, russian or even albanian 1939 tank. Major nations have, aside from the unique names and models for flavor purpose, country specific design companies like Krupp, Henschel, Porsche etc, which will alter the stats upon research tho. You can influence the stats further by the variant system, allowing you to spend field experience to create... well... variants of your tanks with better stats. In the end it is very unlikely that a german pzIV and a russian t-34 or a american M4 sherman for example have the same stats on the field.
Here is a example of a german Sharnhorst Class and the British King George V Class battleships, which are both "tier II" battleships. I made this a while back tho, so stats might have changed since than due to balancing.
This is what the japanese tank tree looks like in HoI IV.
That's not entirely true. Poland should use Allied tank designs post-1939, since those are the tanks the Polish Armed Forces in the West used. I suppose Soviet designs as well, if the Polish People's Army is taken into account. We never really had any tanks of our own design to begin with.

Neither did France due to being conquered but they still got a complete set. I'd love to see the Ill Duece model on the map at some point.
They were able to fill out the tank trees and with Hoi 3 the Japanese got some really nice models VERY late in ( Years ). I'm just hoping they put more development effort into the visuals this time and we don't have to wait 3 years after release for a complete set of models for at least the majors.
I'd also like to see some models for TD's. Would love to see some Stug roaming around the map.
