Why is this not getting any attention?!

Seriously, it's really worrying me the lack of threads on this compared to HoI4. I know it'll never be as popular as HoI since Runemaster is an entirely new thing and not a grand strategy but still.
I just don't want the devs to put all the love and attention into it as they're evidently doing, only to have it be a flop and discourage them from doing anything like it in the future.
I have good faith in this game and hope the devs do more to advertise it coming near release.
Even if it's not even my type of game, I do hope it works out!

What do you folk think?

I think this will be an epic RPG. The reason I think there are less threads here, is that HoI3 had many mixed feelings around it, and that have lead to many saying what they want in the game in the thread. With Runemaster no one knows what to expect, but if they where to ever make 'Runemaster 2'*, it would probably be a forum with many threads.

If it's good people will buy it, don't worry about it. HoI obviously has much more hype because well it's the 4th installment of a beloved series. Besides a lot of the threads in the HoI4 subforum is about what mechanics from previous versions are gonna make it in and what will be changed, etc. which doesn't apply to Runemaster.

most people on these boards are interested in strategy games, not RPG's. Runemaster will attract attention from RPG guys if it is good at release.

I think Runemaster will be a great RPG and I think that people who are not into grand strategy (people who are likely not members of the forum yet) will be more likely to be drawn to Runemaster before HoI4. It may even be a good introduction for those people to Paradox games as it is RPG but it has strategy in it as well, not as complex as the grand strategy games obviously.

With a small amount of information we have so far , it looks really promising (=not-typical-RPG-stuff) and if it goes like this, it will be wide noticed when time is near launching.

P.S: I like both Grand Strategy and RP - games, if they are good ones.

Have to say, it's because people already have some inkling about what Hearts of Iron 4 will be and what its greatest hurdles will be to be a good game. There's not really a lot of surprises there. For Runemaster though, all we have to talk about is theoretical stuff, as we have zero idea of what to truly expect from this game. That's why I'd suggest that if you want more threads on the topic, we should have more discussions on the wholesale slaughter of various races, quests we'd like to see (or not see), and whether or not the developers should have avatars of themselves in the game.

Well I don't know the only RPG's I've played are basically PSO, Torchlight and Diablo ( 2 +3 ), + the divinity series if they count. Well I'll definitely try Runemaster and I'm extremely hyped up, and hope for the game to be as good as possible and really different from all other RPG'S so it stands out.

What is there to discuss? The 5 or so screenshots that have been released? The broad descriptions of the game mechanics (which can't be discussed in detail because they aren't finalized because it's pre-alpha)?

I'm excited by the game, but there isn't much to say about it yet.

In HOI4, we're really just mostly discussing stuff on things that could have been improved from HOI3. This will be the first title of its kind, and I don't think there's much to discuss about. You could always make thread(s) if there's anything interesting to discuss. But yeah, I think there's fairly high interest for this game regardless.

Since you didn't mention Heroes of Might & Magic or King's Bounty, do play them as they are supposedly similar to Runemaster, at least the battle gameplay which we haven't seen yet.

It's not only that, this game is not based on history but upon Scandinavian mythology which is not as well known as WW2 for example.

There is not much to be discussed at this point, it's more about reading the diaries and wondering.

What will decide the fate of Runemaster is solely how good the game will be. If it's just as fantastic as it looks promising, I have no doubt it will sell well. Paradox has grown in importance and has established a positive impression among the general public in the last few years. There is enough visibility now, as well as a sense of reliability on what they do. It's still possible, nonetheless, people could be a little skeptical about a Paradox RPG game, but great RPGs are always very welcomed in the end. That's why I say it will really all depend on how enjoyable and exciting Runemaster will be. If it's good, it will sell; and then people will talk a lot about it on this forum.

Its pretty hard to create threads about a brand new IP. HOI has had 3 previous versions so people and compare or come up with wishlists or blacklists etc. Plus HOI is WW2 so based on reality and that generates another bunch of threads. This happened in 194x so can we have it game; etc.

I think this game will be an easy home run. Potential to be biggest Paradox game ever. RPG's once they get some great reviews blow up. It is a much greater audience then the strategy market.

I'm right there with you. There's only so many times that I can roll panzers through the Ardennes before tiring of it. It'll take quite a lot for HoI4 to get my money, while Runemaster is almost definitely going to!
