WHY is there NO Slovenian culture?

Is not being able to stick to a single thread part of the culture too?
This thing pops up bi-weekly in the suggestions section (where this thread would belong to too since it's not a discussion about anything currently in the game) and it's getting a bit tiresome seeing the same argument over and over followed by anyone opposing the idea getting smacked with a red X no matter how good their arguments might be.

Half the time their arguments aren't being engaged. Smack an X on it and continue talking to those agreeing with you.

It's not a discussion, it's a few people demand something, then stick fingers in their ears, shouting LALALALALA.

Yeah man all that virtual forum paper thats being wasted, just think of how many trees in Amazonia get cut down every day because of that.

Then there is Paradox, a company that sends out people every day around the world to beat you up and force you to read all those threads.

You have literally no choice, whatsoever, you MUST read these threads!

The fun thing of this thread is that it is already derailed before we got some Balkan guys arguing over and over with the same arguments. At least this is hilarious. I'm pretty sure the only things that works against these repeated demands is mockery.

Virtual paper? It's about collecting arguments and sticking to a topic. Hitting the restart button whenever you feel like it won't get a discussion anywhere. But sure, deflect, joke about virtual paper.

It's the kind of quality I've come to expect from these threads anyways. No surprise there.

Some topics about the Balkans in the past have been really bad, but this one isn't. It's a bit harsh to jump in here and shout "Oh noes, another Balkans thread!", when the OP only brought up a reasonable point with a couple of arguments. Problem is, it hasn't been debated. Ever.

Past threads died out after a few people agreed with each other with every argument against it being disagreed with and ignored. Nothing of substance came out of that.

That's not a debate. That's a dozen people getting together, telling each other how right they are and how wrong everyone else is, then leaving the thread only to come back 2 weeks later to repeat the whole thing.

I don't even have a mock comparison for that. Reality is the mock comparison.

It was the same thing like many other places in Europe; youd have a province; it would have rural and urban population. Rural population and probably mostly of the urban population as well would be natives, and they would outnumber the Germans(for example) a lot. But the entire elite (most of aristocracy and every political position of power) would be held by Germans. So in functional and political sense, the province has a Germanic culture. You have that in say Lusatia, Slovenia, and it used to be the case with Hungarian culture in Slovakia.

So without citing you some document, im fairly sure that the Slovenes were a vast majority in modern day Slovenia. Its just that in political sense they were, basically, irrelevant. Everyone who wanted to hold an office (or be anyone in political sense) had either to be German or Germanize. And then late on there were attempts at forceful assimilation (for example one part of my family was forced to change Slavic last name to a German last name, or lose title and land, ofc it didnt exactly made them German, it just pissed them off).

Its a result of a massive Serbian infiltration into Paradox, resulting in a company wide conspiracy which led to no Slovenian (or Bosnian) culture in EU4.

People from the Balkans tend to be very vocal on this forum. I mean to the point that there with be threads demanding Albania be split into 42.7 provinces and have 14 cultures. Then someone replies that Croatia should be nerfed. Then someone replies that Croatia defeated the ottomans, should be buffed, and should be a kingdom that rules over austria. Then someone points out that the principality of pulverichnerus was actually an empire at the start of the game and its village of 217 souls should be lead by a 6/6/6 emperor with general stats of 6/6/6/7. Then someone replies that their emperor was a ***** ****** and throws poo poo at the OP. Finally a *** ***** the thread and we wait for the next one.

Look I am not going to weigh in on whether or not Slovenian should be a separate culture based on gameplay or historical accuracy but I will say that the Balkans should be the focus of an expansion after the HRE gets one. Ya'll are probably going to go ape **** and try to burn something down since I guarantee PDX cannot satisfy everyone there.

All of the mechanics introduced we're at play in the the rotw as well. Religious league war was nice sure but it is played by any nation. Not to mention Art of War was released 3 years ago.

Austrian provinces are weirdly shaped/placed/named from the start, so a rework would be nice. For Slovenian(/Carantanian?) culture, provinces would have to be reworked so that (at least - more would be a subject to discuss) Krain, southern parts of Kärnten & Graz and most of Görz would be cores; majority of the population in those areas was Slovene at the time. But yeah, it was mostly rural.
