The Pope is way out of the diplomatic range of the Indian King and I have never done anything to the Pope or even have a CB against them.

Is there some way to get rid of more threat so that I don't have to fight all of Europe if I want to pull of the conquest of India? I am doing nothing but collecting gold while waiting for for the threat level to go down enough to make a move east. I don't even want to conquer Europe.

The issue is they don't know that. You're bordering Christendom and you are, despite your best intentions, the biggest outside threat. I view it not as him helping an Indian King, rather taking advantage of any war you enter. Threat is akin to a mass EUIV-warning.

A tip for you, rebels don't join coalitions and cannot be saved by them. expand via those and you'll do well however sometimes as a massive empire you just have to focus inwardly while you wait for the world to chill. Fear not, next DLC if you prefer there will be options to disable threat.

But they are part of a coalition where they cannot even communicate with each other due to distance. By that logic, Christendom shouldn't even know what is going on in India. If this was in fact EU4, Europe still wouldn't have discovered India. If we were in EU4, the AI would not even know how big I was.

This sort of thing is why coalitions are so immersion breaking. The idea of Napoleonic or World War style global coalitions existing in the middle ages is beyond ridiculous.

They should have restricted pacts to a regional scale.

Again, the idea that the west wouldn't take notice that you'd launched a war and take advantage is just as immersion breaking. Coalitions are more a convenient way of showing those battling against you rather than the Pope, the Maharaja and the Mongol sitting round a table co-ordinating forces.

To be fair, idea of stable feudal world-conquering empires is ridiculous itself. CK2 coalitions is an unrealistic artificial "solution" to unrealistic artificial problem, basically.

They shouldn't even know anything is going on in India or that there is an India and I reached it.

And if the logic of it was that they saw our levies leaving and decided to attack, it should be considered a separate war and not part of the Indian war. Why are they sending men to die for an Indian King's war reparations?

1. European rulers were aware of the existence of India by the 13th century AD. Actually, quite a few of them were aware of it, to some degree, by the 13 Century BC. Wouldn't have known much about it, but they'd have damn well known it was there. And they'd have a lot more reason to care about it given the huge Seljuk blob everyone's worried about. And they would really, really be aware of massive troop movements within your borders, and would be up for anything to
2. The Pope might not be in diplo range, but his coalition partners in Abyssinia, Egypt and, um... Croatia* probably are. Cooperation against the Seljuks by assorted groups from over a wide area is not exactly without historical precedent.
*Why is Croatia in Yemen?

Except that coalitions do nothing to break up blobs. They barely even slow the biggest ones.
