Playing Emperor of Hispania. Grandpops (Wimarano) died with no eligible children as heirs, so the empire and all king titles went to his oldest grandson (me, Garci). Most king titles are currently handed out as viceroyalties. I am married but as yet no children. So my (child) brother Ranimiro is heir to the empire. He is also heir to two of the ungranted king titles. But for one of those ungranted king titles the heir is my father, Autigari. But my parents are matrilineally married (mom's dead). So dad is, really, nothing. He's not blood, not landed, not married to anyone, little more than a sperm donor to the dynasty blood line cuz he had some good traits. So why is he heir to Lusitania? All of the kingdoms are Ag-Cog Primo. If they all have the same inheritance law, shouldn't the heir be the same for all? How do I fix it so my brother is heir to all titles? If I whack dad will that fix it?

With either Gavelkind or Primo (forgot which) if the child (current you) dies with no heir it will go up one place, preferring the father.

In which case that would be your non dynastic father. If he dies with the title it'll then go to his next oldest son, your younger brother.

Yeah, but he has an heir--his brother. AzCrazyDiamond, you said that all the kingdoms have agnatic-cognatic primo, but does the empire itself? It sounds to me like the empire might have gavelkind. Or maybe it's one of the weird instances where inheritances are listed incorrectly, but will be fixed on re-loading the game.
