I don't know why your macket place does that (may be the game thinks you're broke but since you're only 35 years in the game it's strange) but I can tell you it smells like insane profit...

I think a lot of other empires may be mass buying pretty much everything instead of producing/selling it on their own.

The AI is driving up prices on the glactic market. (AI has an energy cheat, so whenever their economy tanks completely, they will rely heavily on buying everything else from the market.)

This is somewhat depressing cuz the ai literally did nothing that game. It just existed... and then collapsed for no reason at all. It really sucks the fun and immersion out of the game.

This is standard market behavior in all my games, except often it is even worse.
