Why is my Game crashing?!?

I have strange problem - sometimes when I play in EU2, my game crashes in any moment - and kicks me back to the desktop! I don't know why - I've 1.07 patch installed ( but no July 23 )?
When I play in EEP or AON I have no problems - whats up?!?

Seriously, it might do some good, but be sure to backup anything you want to save or else it's deleted...

If you use Windows XP, renaming the folder called AVI in your game folder to anything else will help against some crashes.

Now that we are in the Support forum, let's take a look:

If you have any mods installed, you must completely wipe out EU2 from your system, includeing the registery, and manually deleteing the folders, in order to have a plain EU2 version.

Try that and let me know. Also renaming the AVI folder to AVI_back is always the first thing to try regardless of your operating system.

Crashing and crashing...

I've reinstalled it - and it worked well, before I installed July 23 betapatch - When I installed it, I couldn't load -up Napoleons Age scenario - when I tried to start playing as Spain or France, green bar was loading almost to end, and in the end - game was crashing to desktop - I have polish version of game, I installed it, the I installed polish patch 1.06 and polish update to 1.07, the I have changed db with db_org and scenarios with scenarios_org ( to gain basic, english version ) and at the end I have installed July 23 patch - what I did wrong Help!

I don't know the details of changing to "db with db_org and scenarios with scenarios_org " First I hjave heard of this, so this operation is not supported.

If you want to try fresh install, then just 1.07, then latest beta, no modifications.

Well part of the problem might be the fact that you reinstalled the game, but not the mods. I have read somewhere or other that you have to reinstall them to when you do a fresh installation of EU II. of course renaming the AVI folder is always paramount. But I could be correct. Does anyone else remember reading that tidbit of information I thought I read?

That scenario has an error. Look here for how to fix it.

We are trying to get the vanilla version to work. So we do not want any mods working, that is why the reinstall was done in the first place.
