I can verify this.Canada did away with the penny a while back. Everything is chugging along swimmingly. Just throwing that out there.

In order to actually use the Energy output of a sun, you need something around a Dyson Swarm to collect it.I was thinking about this the other day and honestly I don't understand why energy would be such a limited resource for space age civilizations. The fact that not all suns give you energy credits raises more questions than answers.
Seriously can anyone name a single reason energy needs to be a resource at all?
I don't understand how a society that fits the maximum capacity of a planet can't get enough power through their local star and planet without a dyson sphere. In order to actually use the Energy output of a sun, you need something around a Dyson Swarm to collect it.
Just building and fueling your own Fusion Power Plants will likely be faster and cheaper,

Because as large as the Planet is, it only catches a insignificant amount of energy from the sun to begin with. All that energy actualyl hitting our planet, is dwarved by the energy just going top, down, left and right past us. Or in the completely opposite direction.I don't understand how a society that fits the maximum capacity of a planet can't get enough power through their local star and planet without a dyson sphere.
But a space based civilization doesn't need the full output of a star to have enough energy to function does it? I understand the amount of power required for FTL is straight up to the author but what else makes a reasonable energy sink? I think fulfilling a space age planets energy needs without a dyson sphere is much softer science fiction that anything else in this game.Because as large as the Planet is, it only catches a insignificant amount of energy from the sun to begin with. To capture anything close to the full output, you need something like a Dyson Swarm at least.
Have you missed the part where I pointed out that no mater how much energy we produce, we always found a way to waste that energy on something? No mater how much power we have, we always find something for wich it is barely enough. But a space based civilization doesn't need the full output of a star to have enough energy to function does it? The only reason i'm seeing for credits to also be energy is because it's 'cool'.
