Why is Japan NIP

It's not really important what the tag is, is it? It think they probably used NIP as some people regard "Jap" as an insult.

the real question is why is the united kingdom of great britain and ireland using the ENG tag?

Sometimes when (american) people I know refer to the UK as england I'll use Texas in place of USA (Memnon'll like that)
