Hi guys, when it comes to politics we really only have 3 (+neutrals) places to put stuff. Fascists generally just means expansionist nations or nations that teamed up with germany. Things like the nazis or not are down to the party names and doesnt matter so much in the hoi game world. Long term (if you have seen our roadmap) we wanna differentiate ideologies more because a lot of granularity is simply missing

To be fair, Kaiserreich is specifically-designed to be more of an open-world sandbox than vanilla, thus every part of the world has its own little conflicts flaring up and bringing life to them; at some point, the mod needs anyone to be able to start attacking people, versus vanilla trying to mirror the real-life problems that would happen in a democratic state if they just arbitrarily-declared war on random nations.

Ideally, a fix for ideology would rather than adding new ideologies, would split alignment and ideology off of each other entirely, so in theory a democratic state like Finland could be fascist-aligned if they were pro-Germany, while an authoritarian state like Peru could shift to democratic-aligned if the US pushed its pan-American efforts. That would require a lot of work to balance out, but would solve some of the issues of faction-joining being completely haywire at times, as well as the fact that "nonaligned" is kind of a mess for a game that has increasingly blurred the distinction between alignment and ideology.
There doesn't have to be alignment as a feature at all. Alignments are determined by the faction you join. Ideology can be of importance or not, depending on the faction. In Kaiserreich, there are many different factions and most aren't dependent on the ideology of their members, except for syndicalism, which is incompatible with liberal and reactionary ideologies for lore reasons. Some factions are based on ideologies, like in Central America, but others aren't because they are built on geopolitical interest, like the Belgrade Pact. The Reichspakt can have basically anything from social democracy to national populism because its main point is being the German sphere.

In vanilla, there should be no problem if Finland wanted to join the Axis to fight the USSR, or if monarchist or non-collaborator fascist France wanted to join the Allies to fight Germany. Factions in WW2 weren't as ideologically-based as many think, fascist Italy was allied with UK and France against Germany for a long time to protect Austria.

Seeing that you have added many non aligned paths in these years (German Empire, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, monarchist France, etc.), can you at least treat it a full ideology and give it a proper name, like "Authoritarian" or "Paternal Autocrat" instead of "Non aligned", please? I understand that when the game was released, it was meant for neutral nations, but that has changed a lot. We can have many "neutral" nations that join factions and fight in WW2. I don't think a rename is a very big change and it would put more sense in the game.

Something like 28% democratic, 30% fascist, 40% nonaligned, and 2% communist (plus the hirohito stability buff to offset the terrible political split) seems fair, with the nonaligned section becoming fascist if Japan goes historical (since the coalition government effectively was pro-Axis and highly-belligerent).
That looks like a good mix. The 2.26 coup leading to a change of the ruling party would make it more significant (as it was historically).

It is possible that later on, some type of bicephaly system will be inserted in power for certain countries, such as the Japanese case, to insert figures such as General Tojo and as a similar faction-fighting system was inserted in the last country pack.

I'm still wondering whether the political party % represents the cabinet itself, the people's proportional vote, representational vote or something else entirely...
It represents the political power of the movement. In a perfect democracy, that's vote percentage. In a totalitarian dictatorship, that's state outreach. In an autocracy with an opposition, the population might be 50/50 either way but the power of the government abstracts to 80/20 in HoI terms

The ONLY FASCIST country was ITALY

Germany was not fascist they were nationalist socialist
??????

Ideology is not a protected product. Just because it does not originate from Italia does not mean it's not fascism. The Nazi Party espoused a return to greatness, to subvert the humiliation Germany suffered from Treaty of Versailles, and take back what is "rightfully theirs"

Gee, if I were to replace "Nazi Party" with "Partito Nazionale Fascista", replace "Germany" with "Italy", and "Versailles" with "London" it does sound awfully like Italian fascism isn't it?

Besides, arguing that it doesn't matter is dumb anyway. Ideology has real effect on what you can do in the game. Fascists can justify straight from January 1936, that does not happen with non-aligned

I addressed this earlier on; prior to the February incidents, Japan should be centrist-nonaligned to represent their nominally-democratic government, with the nonaligned government shifting to fascist if they back either the Kodoha or historic coalition government, or risking a civil war if they oppose them (presumably to take the Democratic or Communist paths).

Admittedly, I know next to nothing about Japanese communist influence either pre-war or post-war.
Communists were persecuted, but the more I learn about the Edo period, the more I think they would be the ones to carry the legacy of the samurai, and thus, gain some popularity.
