why is HOI2 Doomsday lagging so much?!? HELP!!

When im starting HOI 2 Doomsday, no problem occure but the game is starting to lagg when the year is 1939. I dont know why its happening but my computer should manage it. When the year is 1944 the game lagging so much that playing is no fun anymore.
I have 3Gb RAM and intel core duo processor T8300. My graphic card is NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400 256/1756 or something...

why is the game lagging so much? any help please?

Sheer number of units on the map... and HOI2 is only using 1 of the 2 cores (can't change that)

Graphics card is not the issue as HOI2 does not program specifically to it (unlike EU3 and more than likely the future HOI3).

Solutions... purge units from countries that are not involved in the fighting etc.

Yeah I am having the same issue. Runs super slow now in the late 40s. The only answer is editing the save I presume to eliminate units?

Yes or purchase the Armageddon expansion pack and patch to 1.3 Beta patch.

I have the Armageddon pack and I installed the 1.3 beta. Still cannot barely move now.

Are you using a save game created in 1.2?

Try to start a new game... and the issues should go away.
